Unitarian Communication Co-ordinators Conference 24th - 26th February 2012,
The Nightingale Centre, Great Hucklow
The Unitarian Communication Co-ordinators Network (UCCN) operates on goodwill and enthusiasm,
offering an opportunity for each congregation and society to learn and share practical ways of supporting outreach.
The programme of workshops for 2012 has been put together in response to what was requested by those attending
last year; skills they would like to learn or develop further, advice on how to be more aware of what users look for
in a website, creating guidelines on etiquette and style, writing a PR strategy, and finally how to take PR images.
As a case study that has taken all of the above into account there will be a presentation of what the Bury-St-Edmunds'
congregation did to successfully celebrate their 300th Anniversary and in so doing promoted their chapel in
the local area. The DUWIT team will be available throughout the weekend to answer any questions about your Unitarian
websites.
UCCN being voluntary, without a formal structure but rather working on the goodwill of enthusiasts from
congregations and societies, has learned over the years to respond to the needs of these organisations as to what
they need to know on a practical level, to improve the Unitarian visibility in society. We are
fortunate in having no problems in finding those with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead workshops
and give presentations. To those who regularly attend, we look forward to seeing you again, and to those who haven't
been before, we look forward to welcoming you in 2012. Many congregations and societies are only too happy
to support those, who wish to learn more that will improve their efforts in making themselves more visible in their
community, so do let them know about the UCCN Workshop Weekend in February.
